Features
Everything the app does today
This list describes what is built and working. Anything limited by plan says so.
The short version
Notachino AI captures a thought by voice or text, files it into one of seven categories with a title and tags, rings an audible alarm when a reminder falls due, holds one image and a set of links per note, and exports everything to CSV or a calendar file. AI structuring, summaries and natural-language search are optional extras on the paid plans.
- ✓Seven categories with editable default tags
- ✓Four alarm sounds with 5/10/15 minute snooze
- ✓One image (1MB) plus unlimited links per note
- ✓CSV, .ics export and read-only share links
Capture
- •Voice capture using your browser's built-in speech recognition.
- •Typed capture from the same composer.
- •Pick voice or text on the way into a new note, so nothing is captured by accident.
- •Each note keeps its raw input alongside the cleaned-up version.
Organise
- •Seven categories: Reminders, Ideas, Tasks, People, Learning Links, Shopping Lists, Recipes.
- •Per-category default tags you can turn on, add to or remove in settings.
- •Home screen widgets you can switch on and off per category.
- •View, edit and delete any note, with a confirmation step before a permanent delete.
Reminders & alarms
Alarms use your device's audio while the app is open in a tab.
- •Four alarm sounds: bell, siren, beep and gong.
- •Full-screen alarm when a reminder is due, with snooze at 5, 10 or 15 minutes.
- •Due and overdue notes are pinned above the recent feed with a red glow.
- •Snoozed and dismissed reminders keep showing their status until you change the due time.
Attachments
- •One image per note, up to 1MB, stored privately in your workspace.
- •Reframe your profile avatar inside a square bounding box.
- •A referrals/links section on every note for URLs — useful for Learning Links collections.
Export & sharing
- •Download all your notes as CSV at any time.
- •Download your full activity log as CSV.
- •Download scheduled reminders as an .ics calendar file for Apple, Google or Outlook — on every plan, including Free.
- •Create a read-only share link for a single note or a link collection (paid plans).
AI features
Included on Premium. On Basic you can add your own Gemini API key to enable them. On Free, AI is off and the app falls back to on-device rules — capture still works, it is just less clever.
- •Structuring: turns a rambling dump into a title, category, tags and a due time.
- •Summaries: condenses a note, its attached links and any pasted document text.
- •Natural-language search: “which recipes use chickpeas”, “the person I met from Sri Lanka”, “what did I save about faceless channels”.
Accounts & workspaces
- •Email and password sign-in, plus Google and Apple.
- •Change your login email with a verification step, or change your password.
- •Every workspace's data is isolated at the database level.
- •A timestamped activity log of everything you do in the app.
Feature questions
Seven: Reminders, Ideas, Tasks, People, Learning Links, Shopping Lists and Recipes. Each category has its own default tags and its own layout, and any of them can be switched off on the home screen from App Settings.
Voice capture uses your browser's built-in speech recognition. You hold the mic, talk, and the transcript becomes the note's raw input — which is kept alongside the cleaned-up version so nothing is lost in translation.
A full-screen alarm appears with a glowing icon and one of four looping sounds (bell, siren, beep or gong). You can snooze for 5, 10 or 15 minutes or dismiss it. Snoozed and dismissed reminders keep showing their status on the card until you change the due time.
Yes. Each note takes one image of up to 1MB, stored privately in your workspace, plus a links section for URLs — which is what makes Learning Links collections of tutorials and videos work.
Only three: AI structuring of a capture, note summaries, and natural-language search such as 'which recipes use chickpeas'. Everything else — capture, categories, alarms, attachments, export and sharing — works with AI switched off.
Yes. Notes and the activity log both export to CSV, scheduled reminders download as an .ics calendar file on every plan, and paid plans can create read-only share links for a single note or a link collection.
